Job summary
Matica is looking for an experienced Product and Project Manager to work alongside its PM team in Italy or Switzerland.
The Product Manager translates high level market needs into product features, to be implemented by the R&D and engineering team. They are responsible for identifying suppliers, partners and for driving product strategy for desktop ID card printing products, including both hardware and consumables.
Project management skills are also important as the Product Manager will assist sales in the implementation and management of large, multi-faceted global ID projects.
The role therefore requires a strategic mindset as well as collaboration skills.
Key Accountabilities
- Product Road Map definition.
- Product positioning and differentiation in the market
- Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and work with marketing to develop the sales tools that support the selling process of our products.
- Product launch – manage cross-functional implementation of new products.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development:
- Document product requirements at a high-level, based on market insight
- Define, document and maintain detailed product specifications
- Continuous follow-up with the R&D Team during development process
- Develop consistent strategy on pricing and margins per region, including MSRP and discount structure
- Develop and drive product launch plan alongside the marketing department
Sales Enablement:
- Develop training materials and lead training sessions
- Designing and executing product webinars on a regular basis
- Providing quick reference guides and product comparison for competitive situations
- Defining and maintaining Price Book
- Provide marketing with technical descriptions of product benefits and features
Positioning:
- Determining relevant, sustainable and differentiated positioning strategies
- Analyzing and outline key customer types that organization sells to
- Planning and coordinating all activities for a well-defined market segmentation program
- Classifying and prioritizing markets to pursue
Vendor Evaluation:
- Selecting vendors for products, consumables and accessories
- Testing and validating products both hardware and consumables
- Negotiating business conditions with new vendors
- Establishing cost structure
- Request special quotations for volume deals or projects
- Organizing training with technical department for support
Project management:
- Manage multiple concurrent customer projects to budget, scope and schedule.
- Ensure billable and non-billable milestones are met.
- Escalate areas of concern early to manage risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including regular progress reports
- Coordinate internal resources and work with/manage third parties/vendors
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/ vendors / partners and coordinate with them on project execution.

- A minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in product management and product marketing
- Project management experience
- Experience in the ID card or printing industry preferable.
- Experience of leading functionally and geographically distributed teams.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in product management, project management, or a similar role.
- Certification in PMP (Project Management Professional) or Agile methodologies (Scrum Master, Product Owner) is a plus.
- Experience in relevant industries such as technology, or manufacturing.
