About Matica

Matica has a range of turnkey solutions for banks, credit unions and other financial services organizations that are looking to instantly issue secure financial cards, including EMV, debit and credit cards, in-branch.

These solutions help financial institutions to improve customer experience by providing the card holder with instant purchasing power. Customers are also able to replace lost, damaged or stolen cards instantly without having to wait for a new card to be posted to them. Financial institutions can benefit from reduced operational costs, along with increased card activation and usage leading to higher transaction rates.

Matica’s solutions converge its market-leading FII software with high quality desktop systems able to print and securely encode financial cards instantaneously.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team with an active role in design, development and maintenance of Matica`s Instant Issuance Platform. This platform includes integration with Matica hardware devices (printers), 3rdparty banking cores/processors, Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and Smart Card personalization services built using C/C++/Java and modern web technologies using the latest security standards. The ideal candidate will work with minimal supervision and have a strong understanding of Java/C/C++, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain, install/deploy C/C++/Java applications and services.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies, including using Azure DevOps for project management.
  • Participate in requirements definition, documentation and code reviews
  • Take ownership of issues and assist proactively in production escalations
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Apply secure development practices.
  • Deploy applications using Azure DevOps Pipeline

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years relevant software development experience creating enterprise level services
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with JAVA, C or C++
  • Experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs using JAVA/Spring
  • Experience with Windows, SQL Server, IntelliJ (or similar modern IDE), Tomcat
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Experience building code using Maven or Gradle
  • Knowledge of version control systems like GIT
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating with 3rd party banking cores/processors like Jack Henry Symitar, Fiserv DNA, Keystone Corelation
  • Experience with integrating software with hardware devices using C/C++
  • Experience with smart card personalization
  • Application security design, including TLS, PKCS standards, integration of hardware security modules (HSM)
  • Understanding of cryptography including key management, symmetric/asymmetric keys, crypto algorithms
  • Experience with front-end development using HTML, JavaScript (any latest modern framework)
